Sociology

Sociology is the systematic study of society, social institutions, social relationships, and social behavior. It examines how individuals and groups interact within various social contexts and how they are influenced by, and can influence, the larger societal structures. This discipline employs a variety of research methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, to analyze social phenomena, from small group interactions to large-scale social systems. Key concepts in sociology include culture, socialization, social stratification, norms, roles, and deviance. Sociologists seek to understand patterns of social relationships and the ways in which societal dynamics shape individuals’ experiences and identities.
